The material is fed into the bunker of the star screen machine. The screening process begins in the star screen, where the screening stars all turn in one direction and loosen the material. The fine screening material falls between the stars and onto a collection belt. This belt then conveys the screened material on a fines conveyor to the output point. The oversize material is conveyed through to the end of the star screen and then discharged. Optimal screening sizes are 5 mm – 80 mm.
