Iron hydroxide activation station.
In biogas fermentation plants, hydrogen sulphide is produced in the fermentation process. Filtering out the gaseous hydrogen sulphide from the methane gas after fermentation is costly. Moreover, the gaseous hydrogen sulphide corrodes plant equipment and concrete. Adding an iron hydroxide solution as an input for the fermentation reduces the amount of hydrogen sulphide in the fermentation process, binds it and discharges it with the fermented biomass.
